There are many ways in which a student can create a Web 2.0 product to develop a scientific explanation for their work. Creating a Wiki is one way in which they can do that.

Students could create different pages on their wiki to document their explanation. All discussions are recorded and history of who worked on the project are noted. This would eliminate the need for one student to cover for the other one. Each person's input would have a trail for a teacher to follow.

I plan to use this during science. They will then present their findings to the class. Each of the steps of the scientific method would be documented and the students would be able to tell me what they did each step of the way.

1. Students will ask a question that they are interested in knowing the answer to.
2. Students research their question.

3. Students create a hypothesis.

4. Students test their hypothesis by conducting an experiment.

5. Students analyze the data and draw a conclusion.

6. Students create a report on their findings.

Students could include pictures, charts, and links to enhance their final product.
